Feature That!                      Poems

I love my family,

Every single one.

How lucky are we,

With each daughter and son.

The early days were just great,

Was doing what I was for,

Life was just perfect,

Couldn’t have asked for more.

The family grew,

Then times grew rough,

The children weren’t the cause,

They were so tough.

We all pulled together,

Was not easy for us,

Cheap tuna, macaroni and cheese,

Were eaten without fuss.

We found ways to have fun

Because fun helped us conceal,

The struggles we faced,

The anxieties we did feel.

Survive and excel is what we did,

At least we tried, each and every kid,

All proved that, though troubles could numb,

Pursuing a goal,

Helps one overcome.

MY FAMILY   poems by Sue B.
BOB

Bob, my love,

My first and only true love,

How lucky I am to have you here,

So faithful and constant, year to year.

I saw you then, bowling did we go,

I guess I won the game.

I won your heart, but did not know,

That would be my claim to fame.

Been forty years, how fast they came,

Wherever did they go

Since I changed my name?

How fast the years did flow.

Four loves, He did give us,

How proud we should be,

I know what you gave them,

Was what they should be.

Strength, courage, stubbornness, for sure,

Kindness, compassion, to help them endure,

Work till you can’t, for God, all your days,

You’ve taught them that only God knows the ways.
